Our Commitment to Tech Zero
SmartEducator is a proud Tech Zero signatory, committed to playing our part in the global effort to combat climate change. We recognise the urgent need to reduce our carbon footprint and actively contribute to a more sustainable future. As we work towards becoming carbon neutral by 2035, we have implemented strategic initiatives across every aspect of our operations to minimise our environmental impact and hold ourselves accountable to the planet.
Energy-Efficient Operations
Reducing energy consumption starts with the right infrastructure. SmartEducator has deployed energy-efficient smart management systems across our operations, designed to optimise energy usage, reduce waste and promote sustainability. We have also integrated air-source heat pumps within our premises, significantly reducing the carbon emissions associated with heating our operations and making a meaningful contribution to our wider environmental commitment.
Taking Ownership of Our Emissions
Reducing emissions requires clarity about where they come from. SmartEducator has used the Tech Zero scoping toolkit to proactively define our emissions and focus our efforts where they matter most. For a business like ours, that means prioritising Scope 2 emissions from purchased electricity, heating and cooling, alongside Scope 3 emissions – the indirect emissions generated across our wider value chain, including cloud service energy consumption.

Partnerships and offsetting initiatives
Ecologi
Reducing emissions is only part of the picture; offsetting what remains is equally important. Sendient is a proud Ecologi member, supporting impactful climate action through tree planting and carbon offset projects. In just our first year, we planted hundreds of trees through the platform. As our cloud service reliance grows, we are committed to offsetting the associated emissions through Ecologi, investing in carbon offset projects to ensure our environmental impact is actively balanced.
Tech Zero
Our long-term sustainability goals are aligned with the Tech Zero roadmap. In collaboration with industry experts, we are building a comprehensive carbon-neutral plan that will guide us towards our 2035 target.

When schools and institutions share their data with us, they need to know it's protected to the highest standard. The ISO/IEC 27001 is the internationally recognised standard for information security management systems (ISMS) and assures our clients that SmartEducator has implemented stringent security protocols to manage sensitive data effectively, thus mitigating the risk of breaches or cyberattacks. It reflects our core belief that data privacy and security are fundamental to building trust in AI.
